You know those rare books that catch you in their grip almost instantly? That was Oaths of Land and Sea for me. Evelyn does a phenomenal job hooking you right from chapter one! The world-building is rich, the characters are beautifully crafted, and the banter between Cassandrea and Kerr is definitely top-tier. That witty back-and-forth makes the slow-burn tension so satisfying.

I liked that the characters weren't simply good or evil. King Valderan genuinely cares about Cassandrea in some ways but he also manipulates her loyalty and expects complete obedience.

I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys epic fantasy.
